Sage Intacct Configuration

The superglue agent can read and change Sage Intacct module configuration that the Intacct APIs do not cover. This includes the configuration pages of General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Cash Management, Purchasing, Order Entry, Inventory Control, and Contracts, the company information, and the names of terms and dimensions. This guide walks you through the one-time setup, which takes about ten minutes.

  • Plan first. The agent reads the configuration page, checks your requested changes against the page’s rules, and shows you every change before it saves. Some changes make Intacct change other settings too. The plan lists them.
  • Approval for every run. The agent signs in to Intacct for each read and each save, so it asks for your approval each time.
  • Verified saves. After a save, the agent opens the page again and compares every value. It also checks term and dimension changes through the Intacct XML API.
  • Runs as one Intacct user. The agent signs in to the Intacct web app as the user you create below. It can only see and change what that user’s permissions allow.
  1. Subscribe to Web Services in Intacct

    1. Go to Company > Admin > Subscriptions.
    2. Make sure Web Services is subscribed. If it is not, subscribe to it.
  2. Authorize the superglue sender ID in Intacct

    1. Go to Company > Setup > Company and open the Security tab. Select Edit.
    2. In Web Services authorizations, add the superglue sender ID IndexCommerceMPP. Sender IDs are case sensitive.
    3. Set the status to Active and save.
  3. Create a user for superglue in Intacct

    1. Go to Company > Admin > Users, roles, and groups > Users and add a user, for example superglue.
    2. Set the user type to Business. Do not select Web Services only: the agent signs in to the web app, which a Web Services-only user cannot do.
    3. Give the user administrator access to the configuration page of each module the agent works in, and to Company > Setup > Terminology. In a role-based company, assign a role with these permissions.
    4. The user must sign in with a password only. Exclude the user from single sign-on and multi-factor authentication.
    5. Sign in once as the new user and set a permanent password.
  4. Connect Sage Intacct in superglue

    1. Create a Sage Intacct system in superglue, or open the one you have.
    2. Add a credential with the Company ID, the User ID of the new user, and its password. superglue adds its sender credentials when it runs. If you work for several companies, add one credential for each company and name it after the company.
  5. Test the setup in superglue

    1. Tell the agent: “Show me the General Ledger configuration in Sage Intacct.” Approve the run. If you get the settings back, setup works.
    2. To test a change, tell the agent: “Plan a rename of the Class dimension to Work Sector.” The agent shows the plan and changes nothing until you approve.
  • One session per user. Each run signs in again and ends other sessions of the same user. Do not use the superglue user for your own work in Intacct. The agent runs one request at a time.
  • Run time. Each read or save takes about 5 to 30 seconds.

To remove access right away, make the superglue user inactive in Company > Admin > Users, roles, and groups > Users, or remove the sender ID from Web Services authorizations.
